Research on Gender Differences in the Development of Students at Local Undergraduate Universities——Based on Data Analysis from Graduation Planning Survey
In the rapid development process of higher education in our country from elite to populariza-tion,the state and society are highly concerned about the employment destinations and quality of employ-ment for college graduates.Although opportunities for education among university students have achieved gender equality, there still exist gender differences in graduation planning and career development. This study, based on the"Hebei University Student Development Survey Questionnaire"data, focuses on ex-amining the gender differences in graduation planning choices among graduating students.Through data analysis,it was found that students from undergraduate institutions in He-bei Province have relatively low social and economic capital in their families, and there are significant gen-der differences in graduation planning choices;female students have a gap between employment expecta-tions and current employment status, with relatively narrow job selection paths;female students are more inclined to choose further studies, while male students show a greater inclination towards employment, and the intention to start a business is significantly higher among male students than female students.Ex-ploring the gender differences in the development of students from local ordinary undergraduate colleges not only helps to understand the role of gender factors in college student'career choices but also provides empirical evidence for policymakers to develop educational and career guidance strategies that better meet the development needs of students of different genders, thereby improving the quality of talent cultivation.
