Construction of Knowledge,Belief and Practice Scale for Prevention of Peritoneal Dialysis-associated Peritonitis and Test of Reliability and Validity
Objective:To construct a knowledge and practice scale for the prevention of peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis in patients with peritoneal dialysis, and to test the reliability and validity of the scale. Methods:Under the guidance of the theory of knowledge, belief and action, literature review, qualitative interview and Delphi expert correspondence were used to form an initial scale based on pre-investigation.A total of 268 patients with peritoneal dialysis who were followed up at peritoneal dialysis centers in 3 Grade A hospitals in Anhui Province were investigated by the convenient sampling method.Items were screened by critical ratio method, correlation coefficient method,Cronbach's α coefficient method and factor analysis method.Internal consistency and retest reliability were used for reliability test, and content validity and structure validity were used for validity test. Results:The scale of knowledge and practice for prevention of peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis consisted of 34 items in 3 dimensions:knowledge,be-lief and behavior. The Cronbach's α coefficients of the total questionnaire and each dimension were 0.972,0.971,0.968,0.949,respectively.The half-point reliability was 0.825,0.983,0.981,0.905,and the retest reliability was 0.830,0.710,0.800,0.635,respectively.The item level content validity index was between 0.95~1,and the content validity index of the scale level was 0.976.The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that the cumulative variance contribution rate of 3-factor model was 74.143%.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the scale fit well. Conclusion:This questionnaire has good relia-bility and validity, and can provide reference for medical staff to evaluate the prevention status of peritoneal dialysis-associated peri-tonitis in patients with peritoneal dialysis.
