Relationship Between Nurses'Emotional Management Ability and Professional Life Quality in Nurses in a Grade-A Hospital of Anhui
Objective:To analyze the relationship between nurses'emotional management ability and professional life quality in a Grade-A hospital in Anhui province.Methods:The general information questionnaire,nurses'emotional Management Scale,and pro-fessional Quality of Life scale(Pro-QOL)were used among 780 nurses.The correlation between nurses'emotion management and Pro-QOL was analyzed by Pearson correlation,and the influencing factors of nurses'emotion management were analyzed by multiple linear analysis.Results:The total score of the nurses'emotional management scale was(51.39±6.38)points.The scores of compassion sat-isfaction,burnout,and secondary trauma were(31.56±8.12),(29.01±5.60),(26.57±6.12),respectively.Nurses'emotional management ability was positively correlated with compassion satisfaction(r=0.358,P<0.05),and negatively to Pro-QOL,dimen-sions of burnout and secondary trauma(r=-0.107~-0.417,P<0.05).multiple linear regression analysis showed that nursing work-ing years and compassion satisfaction had positive effects on nurses'emotional management ability,while the average monthly night shifts in the past six months and burnout had negative effects on nurses'emotional management ability(all P<0.05),explaining 38%of the total variance.Conclusion:Nurses'emotional management ability was at the medium level,the quality of professional life needs to be improved,and managers need to focus on improving their emotional management ability and relieving bad moods.
