Dynamic Analysis of Landscape Structure of Liangshui Natural Reserve
Forest type maps and subcompartment database for the survey years of 1974, 1989 and 1999 were used to systematically analyse the dynamic of the landscape spatial structure of Liangshui Natural Reserve in terms of landscape index with the help of GIS. Results indicate that the area of Korean pine forests with larger patch number and dominance index was bigger than that of other forest landscape elements from 1974 to 1999. Korean pine forest had an important effect on the function and structure of forest landscapes in Liangshui Natural Reserve. Moreover, the forest landscape elements were analysed by internal structure index, which implies that mature and over-mature forests are dominate in Korean pine forests, coniferous mixed forests and coniferous-deciduous mixed forests, and the age structure of Korean pine forests is multiplex.
