Effects of Bamboo Vinegar Preparation on Antibacterial and Combustible Properties of Middle Density Fiberboard
The antibacterial effects of raw bamboo vinegar and bamboo vinegar preparation on wood mould were studied to open up the utilization of bamboo vinegar and improve the antibacterial properties and fire retardance of middle density fiber-board (MDF). Results showed that the antibacterial activity of PW1 and PW2 bamboo vinegar preparation was greatly improved by mixing with active components. The antibacterial activity of the treated MDF was improved to Grade 4 for bamboo raw vinegar and Grade 0 for PW1, Grade 1 for PW2. The combustibility of the treated MDF was greatly improved compared with the untreated MDF in terms of effective heat of combustion, heat release rate, total heat release, mass loss rate and total smog release.
