Processing of QuickBird Ortho Ready Standard Products and Its Application to Delineating the Forestland Par
Taking the forestland parcel delineation as an example, a solution was proposed to process the QuickBird ortho ready standard images for practical applications. First, images with true color were simulated from multispectral bands by band math. Then, the true color fused images, with good visual effects, were generated by merging the simulated true color image and panchromatic band based on the method of the Modified IHS fusion. To meet the accuracy requirements of delineating forestland parcels, the true color fused images were ortho-rectified by the GCPs (Ground control points)-based RPCs( Rational Polynomial Coefficients)model. Next, the ortho-rectified images from different orbits and different times were matched to each other by the Rubber sheeting model with the overlapping area matched to the average position of tie points and the central part of the image unaltered. Finally, the matched images were mosaiced together into the desired map along the seamline formed by the tie points of the overlapping area. This solution, already proved to be effective in the forestland parcels delineation, could be used for other practical applications.
