Determination of Mineral Elements in Different Parts of Torreya yunnanensis by ICP-OES
Torreya yunnanensis samples were digested by HNO3-HF-HaO4 method to study element contents in different parts of T. yunnanensis. Twenty mineral elements in the bark, xylem and leaves of T. yunnanensis were determined by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES). Results show that T. yunnanensis is rich in mineral elements. The contents of Ca, K, Mg, P, Na, Fe, Cr, Zn, and Mn are high, which have some correlation with its drug effect. However, harmful trace elements of Pb and As were detected in the bark and leaves of T. yunnanensis. The risk should be considered for medical purposes.
