Nesting Success and Influencing Factors in the Meadow Bunting(Emberiza cioides)
We studied the clutch size and the nesting success of Meadow Bunting in Zhaluteqi Region of Inner Mongolia Municipality from April to July of 2012-2015.The average clutch size of Meadow Bunting was 4.46±0.72 eggs (n=47),average incubation period was 12.44±0.53 d (n=9),incubated rate was 0.52,Mayfield' s nesting success was 0.22,and direct observational nesting success was 0.34.The two main factors influencing Meadow Bunting nesting success are predators and human disturbance. Therefore,we should strengthen the conservation and management of Siberia apricot (Prunus sibirica) and enact reasonable grazing policies to enhance the nesting success of Meadow Bunting.
