Adsorption Properties of Sodium Alginate Gel Modified by Graphene Oxide
Composite gel balls were prepared by ion exchange method with sodium alginate and graphene oxide .Sodium alginate was used as matrix and graphene oxide was used as modifier .The effects of adsorbent dosage , pH, temperature and initial dye concentration on the removal of methylene blue dye by composite gel balls were studied .The maximum adsorption ca-pacity acquired by Langmuir equation reached 90.91 mg/g when adsorbent dosage was 4 g, pH was 7, temperature was 45℃, and initial concentration of methylene blue was 40 mg/L.The adsorption process was fitted pseudo-second-order ki-netics model better through the study of kinetics .The experiment data was well-described by Freundlich model through the adsorption isotherm studies .Thermodynamic studies indicated that the adsorption process was a spontaneous endothermic process. The gel balls were recycled and low cost .Therefore, there were good applications prospects in the dye wastewater treatment.
