The Preliminary Selection Experiment of Populus deltoides Clonal Biomass Energy Forest
In order to explore the feasibility of Populus deltoides as a biomass energy forest and to further select more promising clonal varieties suitable for biomass energy forest,a study was conducted with eight clonal P.deltoides as subjects.A ran-domized block design was implemented to establish biomass energy forests, and 17 indicators, including diameter at breast height and plant height, were measured.Data analysis was performed using principal component analysis and multiple line-ar regression analysis. The results showed that all eight clones are important species for biomass energy forests, with clone 2 being the most optimal, followed by clones 4 and 3.Using a stepwise regression approach,a regression equation was de-veloped for individual biomass(W)in relation to diameter at breast height(D)and plant height(H),resulting in W=2.878 7D+0.655 3H-16.528 0.By measuring the diameter at breast height and plant height, biomass can be quickly esti-mated,providing important references for the management of P.deltoides biomass energy forests.
