Synthesis of Polyisobutylene Succinimides Based on Infrared Spectroscopy
The polyisobutylene succinic anhydride and aminosalicylic acid were used as main materials to synthesize polyisobutylene succimide. The molar mass of polyisobutylene succimide was calculated by analyzing the reactants with infrared spectrum. At the same time, infrared spectrum was used to analyze the product to identify the target product and the relative purity of product.Based on these, the influence of acid-anhydride ratio and reaction time on the relative purity was investigated. The optimum reaction condition was determined as follows:the acid-anhydride ratio of the reactants 1.2∶1.0,and the reaction time 6 h.Under above conditions, the relative purity could achieve 94.8%.
