Preparation of Activated Carbon From Sludge Activated With H2SO4/ZnCl2 Composite by Microwave Method
The sewage sludge activated carbon was prepared from sludge activated with H2SO4/ZnCl2 composite by microwave method, using dehydrated sewage sludge as raw material. The effect of microwave activation temperature, power, irradiation time and solid-liquid ratio on iodine sorption value of sewage sludge activated carbon was studied. The synthetic product was characterized by the methods of TG,BET,FTIR and SEM.The results showed that the iodine sorption value of sewage sludge activated carbon was about 1 360 mg·g-1 when the solid-liquid ratio was 1∶1.5,the microwave power was 2 000 W,the activation temperature was 600℃and the irradiation time was 20 min.Compared with dry sludge, the pyrolysis of sludge with activator still had three stages, but the weight loss during semi-coke forming coke stage was greatly improved. The specific surface area of sewage sludge activated carbon was about 331 m2·g-1,with visible and non-blocked pores of various sizes and an average pore size of about 13 nm,and relatively more oxygen-containing functional groups.
