Synthesis and Evaluation of New Carbonate and Sulfate Scale Inhibitors for Oilfields
The biodegradability of non-polymeric scale inhibitors limits their application in areas such as offshore. In this paper, using mononitrile and dinitrile as raw materials,a compound C(NH2)(PO3H2)2 containing one or two amino bisphosphonates was synthesized and investigated, which is biodegradable and can be used as scale inhibitor for calcium carbonate and barium sulfate, while being better compatible with Ca ions.Compared with known commercial scale inhibitors, the synthetic sulfate scale inhibitor has poor scale inhibition performance, while the carbonate scale inhibitor has better scale inhibition performance. In order to improve the scale inhibitor performance,a new non-polymeric scale inhibitor containing 4~8 phosphonate groups was obtained by converting the amine group to amino dimethylene phosphonate group—N(CH2PO3H2)2.Among them,BP-9 was the most effective scale inhibitor with FIC of 5 μg·g-1 for carbonate scale and 20 µg·g-1 for sulfate scale, and the new bisphosphonate compound had good biodegradation activity.
