Review of Analytical Research of Influencing Factors of the Stability of Oil-in-water Emulsions
Pipeline transportation is one of the important ways of oil transportation,so the stability of heavy oil emulsion during transportation plays a decisive role in transportation efficiency.Different types of surfactants, interfacial tension,oil-water ratio, emulsification temperature, dispersed phase particle size, chemical additives, interfacial charge, etc.have different effects on the stability of heavy oil emulsion, and the main factors affecting the stability of oil-in-water emulsion are the size of the dispersible particle size, interfacial tension and the nature of oil-water interface film of heavy oil emulsion. In this paper, the effect of average particle size, interfacial tension and oil-water interface film properties on the stability of oil-in-water heavy oil emulsion was analyzed, the mechanism of stabilization was investigated as well as the factors affecting average particle size, interfacial tension and oil-water interface film properties, and the development prospect of oil-in-water emulsion stability research was analyzed.
