Study on Preparation and Performance of New Soil Solidifying Agent for Soft Soil Foundation Reinforcement
In order to improve the utilization efficiency of soft soil resources,a new soil curing agent PPG-1 was prepared by lotion polymerization with acrylate BA,acrylic acid AA and styrene St as monomers, and fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene AEO-9 and sorbitan monooleate SP80 as emulsifiers. And its comprehensive performance was evaluated. The results showed that the larger the dosage of soil stabilizer PPG-1,the greater the unconfined compressive strength, water stability coefficient, frost resistance index, and mass loss rate. The longer the curing age,the greater the unconfined compressive strength and water stability coefficient, and the better the solidification treatment effect. The recommended optimal dosage of soil solidifying agent PPG-1 was 0.5%,which could achieve an unconfined compressive strength value of 2.81 MPa and a water stability coefficient of 85.7%for the target solidified soil specimen after 7 d curing. After 5 freeze-thaw cycles, the frost resistance index reached 83.6%,and the mass loss rate was less than 5%.All performance parameters could meet the requirements of the standard"Technical Standards for the Application of Soil Solidifying Agents"(CJJ/T 286-2018)for the performance indicators of solidified soil. The new soil stabilizer PPG-1 could significantly improve the mechanical properties, water resistance, and frost resistance of soft soil samples, and could meet the needs of soft soil foundation reinforcement.
