Quantitative Analysis of Flavonoids and Triterpenoids in Hawthorn Leaves
Hawthorn leaves, as a kind of Chinese medicinal materials, have various active components. In this study, theyield of flavonoids and triterpenoids from Hawthorn leaves was studied under different ratios of ethanol solution and water as solvent. The reflux extraction method was used to extract Hawthorn leaves with different solvents. The contents of flavonoids and triterpenoids in the extracts of Hawthorn leaves were determined by ultraviolet spectrophotometer. The extraction rate of both flavonoids and triterpenes in 50% ethanol was the highest, and the content of flavonoids was always higher than that of triterpenes, but the content of triterpenes in water extract was less, it was speculated that triterpenes in Hawthorn leaves were mostly aglycones. Through the determination of flavonoids and triterpenoids in Hawthorn leaves, the solvent selection was optimized, which provided theoretical support for the extraction and separation of active components in Hawthorn leaves.
