Experimental Study and Analysis on Corrosion Resistance of Tower Vessel
In industrial application, the corrosion resistance of refinery column vessels is critical to ensuring their long-term stability and safety. In this paper, experimental methods were used to deeply explore the impact of different environmental factors on the corrosion rate of carbon steel and other materials, and the surface corrosion characteristics of different materials under the same corrosion conditions were analyzed.Experimental results showed that in acidic environments, carbon steel had the highest corrosion rate, reaching 0.60 mm∙a-1,while in neutral and alkaline environments, the corrosion rates dropped to 0.18 mm∙a-1 and 0.29 mm∙a-1 respectively. In addition, analysis of the corrosion characteristics of the material surface revealed differences in the corrosion resistance of different materials, with polytetrafluoroethylene showing the best corrosion resistance. The effects of different anti-corrosion modification strategies and found that coating treatment, heat treatment and alloying significantly reduced the corrosion rate of carbon steel were also evaluated.Among them, alloying had the most significant effect, with a corrosion rate of only 0.15 mm∙a-1.
