Effect of Slag Powder and Fly Ash on Salt-Frost Resistance of Pavement Concrete
The salt freezing destroy has become one of the most common forms of concrete destruction.Adding mineral admixtures is an effective measure to improve the salt-frost resistance of concrete. In this experiment, the effects of fly ash, slag powder and composite admixture of them on the workability, strength and salt-frost resistance of concrete were studied, and the influencing mechanism was also analyzed. The results showed that fly ash could increase the slump, gas content of concrete and reduce the strength of concrete, and meanwhile increase the quality loss rate and strength loss rate of concrete in the salt salt-frost environment. On the contrary, the addition of slag powder could reduce the slump, gas content of concrete and improve the strength,salt-freeze resistance of concrete. The slump and gas content of concrete could be controlled effectively by adding the composite admixture of fly ash and slag powder. In terms of strength and salt-freeze resistance, the optimum mass ratio of fly ash and slag powder was 1∶1.
