Modification of UV-Curable Coatings by 1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium Chloride Dissolved Cellulose
Cellulose is the most abundant natural polymer compound in nature, and its application field is very extensive. In the application of cellulose, the most prominent problems are mainly the separation and extraction of cellulose, dissolution and regeneration, and thermoplastic processing. In this paper, the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride([BMIM]Cl)was synthesized by quaternization reaction, and the cellulose was dissolved in DMF solution and DMSO solution of the prepared[BMIM]Cl.The[BMIM]Cl solution had good dissolving cellulose properties, and its solubility increased with the increase of temperature. The DMSO solution of[BMIM]Cl dissolved cellulose better. When the prepared cellulose-[BMIM]Cl solution was used to modify the UV-curable coating, the curing time of the UV-curable film was significantly shortened and the hardness of the film was enhanced. It also had significant effect on the water resistance and adhesion of the cured film.
