Primary school students' writing ability is generally low,especially in the writing of depicting characters. The design and implementation of writing exercises for depicting characters in Unified Chinese Textbooks of Primary Schools can promote primary school students' abilities to depict characters. To effectively enhance primary school students' abilities to depict characters,teachers can adopt strategies such as selection and imitation,scaffolding,appreciation,and reading to guide students to vividly depict characters,clearly write examples of characters,delineate strong emotions of characters,portray their characteristics,which help primary school students improve their language use,enhance thinking ability,promote aesthetic creation,boost cultural confidence,and ultimately enhance their core literacy.
