PBL teaching method is a student-centered and problem oriented teaching approach. The application of PBL teaching method in the teaching of English units in the upper grades of primary schools can cultivate students'critical thinking and innovation abilities,enhance their teamwork and communication skills. The article elaborates on the application advantages of PBL teaching method,analyzes the current application status of PBL teaching method in the teaching of English units in higher grades of primary schools,and proposes strategies to improve the application effect of PBL teaching method in the teaching of English units in higher grades of primary schools,in order to enhance the level and effectiveness of English teaching in higher grades of primary schools.
