Against the backdrop of the increasing demand for professional English proficiency in society,the reform of college English teaching in applied undergraduate universities has become particularly urgent.Based on the current development of English teaching in application-oriented undergraduate universities,the paper points out the problems that exist in teaching contents,teaching methods,and teaching staff.On this basis,reform strategies are proposed to update educational concepts,enhance teachers'capabilities,construct practical teaching systems,and reform evaluation methods.The aim is to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the reform of English teaching in applied undergraduate universities,and promote the close integration of English teaching with social needs.
