Research on Strategies for the Development of Chinese Education in the World Economically Underdeveloped Regions:Taking the Literature and Data Related to Confucius Institute in Liberia as an Example
The Republic of Liberia,abbreviated as"Liberia",is located in West Africa.The country is a typical economically underdeveloped region in the world.Objectively speaking,there are many difficulties to promote Chinese education in such regions.Exploring effective ways,approaches and methods to promote and popularize Chinese education has always been an important issue faced by Liberia University Confucius Institute.If it could be addressed,an effective model for the development of Chinese education will be constructed in Liberia,and a sample demonstration of Chinese education will have an effect on similar regions around the world.This article takes Chinese education in Liberia as a case study to sort out the practical Chinese education problems due to economic backwardness,such as insufficient teaching staff,lack of localized textbook and high cost of online Chinese learning.At the same time,referring to the local Chinese education data provided by Liberia University Confucius Institute,we have conducted analysis combined with relevant literature and materials,and further interviewed with previous Chinese deans of the Confucius Institute.Then,we proposed targeted strategies for addressing Chinese education issues in Liberia,gradually expanding the influence of Chinese education in the international community and promoting the dissemination of Chinese culture.
