The quality assessment of teacher educators is related to the quality of the teacher educators workforce, the quality of teacher education and teaching, and the quality of future teachers, and is a proper part of the construction of high-quality teacher education. The quality assessment of teacher educators essentially involves the value judgment of the input quality (i.e., teacher educators ' qualifications, teacher educators ' characteristics), process quality (teacher educators' teaching, teacher educators' research, and teacher educators' reflection), and outcome quality (teacher educators' effectiveness). Based on this, a quality evaluation index system for teacher educators is constructed, consisting of 3 first-level indicators, 6 second-level indicators, 17 third-level indicators, and several fourth-level observation points. To promote the implementation of teacher educators quality assessment, it is not only necessary to pay attention to it in ideology, focusing on the key behaviors of teacher educators for prying the high-quality development of teacher education; it is also necessary to take concrete actions in an orderly and articulated manner in the trinity of"main body-methods-application of the results";and it is even more necessary to ensure the joint guarantee of institutional standards and other key support.
