Logical Reasoning,Realistic Dilemmas,and Potential Paths of Evaluation of Teachers Teaching in Universities in the Perspective of Scholarship of Teaching
The proposal of taking teaching as a kind of scholarship provides value guidance and practical guidance for university teachers' teaching and evaluation. As an important means to ensure the quality of teaching in universities and to promote the professional development of teachers,the evaluation of teachers ' teaching in universities should follow the generation logic of the kernel of scholarship of teaching,serve the development logic of professional growth in teachers' teaching and point to value logic of students' learning and development. However,the evaluation concept is confined to the performance trap of managerialism,the evaluation subject lacks the coordinating mechanism of multivariate synergy,the evaluation standard and its methodology are insufficient in scientific relevance,and the evaluation result management and guarantee system is weak,which are still the real chronic illnesses of the evaluation of teachers ' teaching in universities in China. Based on these,in order to reconstruct the ecology of university teachers ' teaching evaluation in China,we should reiterate the concept of scholarship of teaching and return to the rationality of value of teaching evaluation in universities;define the role of evaluation subject and build a developmental teaching evaluation system;develop the evaluation index system and standardize the standard procedures of teaching evaluation in universities;improve the mechanism of the application of results and smooth the feedback channels of teaching evaluation in universities.
