Research on the Cultivation of Data Competence for Graduate Students in Journalism and Communication from the Perspective of Computational Communication Studies
The construction of new liberal arts is an important task in the field of humanities and social sciences in China, and the education of graduate students in journalism and communication is an integral part of it,facing the urgent demand for the cultivation of data capabilities. At present, the education of graduate students in journalism and communication is path-dependent on traditional research methods and lacks a truly interdisciplinary thinking.Computational communication studies, which use computational techniques to study social issues, have typical"interdisciplinary"characteristics and provide new paradigms and new paths for the development of journalism and communication.Against the backdrop of the vigorous development of computational communication studies, enhancing the data capabilities of journalism and communication graduate students requires clarifying key issues such as what data capabilities are,why cultivate data capabilities, and how to cultivate data capabilities, thereby establishing a comprehensive system for cultivating data capabilities, and innovatively promoting the improvement and development of the research capabilities and academic level of graduate students in journalism and communication.
