The thinking mode of teaching philosophy is the form of thinking activity in which researchers use certain thinking means to understand, recognize and reflect on teaching events, teaching consciousness and teaching theories in the process of summarizing teaching practices, refining teaching experiences, and reflecting on and criticizing teaching theories. In its historical evolution, the mode of thinking of teaching philosophy takes on three modes:the mode of thinking characterized by simple dialectic and intuitive experience, the mode of thinking characterized by logical speculation and rational analysis, and the mode of thinking characterized by dialectical and systematic synthesis. From the standpoint of generative teaching philosophy, there exist some problems in the current research of teaching philosophy, such as the"traditional rationalism"concept reflected in research, the discussion of"relation"in isolation and in abstraction, and the constraint of typical western thinking mode.Drawing on the basic characteristics of traditional Chinese thinking, contemporary teaching philosophy thinking should include such typical thinking modes as holistic thinking, imagery thinking, practical thinking, relational thinking, and generative thinking. The proposal of the typical thinking modes of contemporary teaching philosophy is helpful to promote the transformation of the teaching philosophy research paradigm from metaphysical speculation to life-based and practical problem solving. It also helps the discipline of teaching-learning philosophy to become independent, helps to build a discourse system of teaching philosophy with Chinese characteristics, and helps to awaken the mission consciousness of teaching philosophy research.
