Watching Over the City and the Countryside:The Job-Residence Separation Lifestyle of Rural Teachers and Its Double-sided Influence
The job-residence separation has become a common living style of rural teachers in China.According to the field survey, rural teachers rush between urban and rural areas, which are characterized by large scale, youth, heavy tasks and difficulty commuting to work. The impact of job-residence separation on rural teachers'economic life, career development, and interpersonal communication is not a single dimension but two sides. The specific manifestation is that they have financial burdens but also can be compensated, they can stick to their careers but also want to escape, they have formed informal group but can cooperate with out-group.However,it has a negative impact on their urban and rural community identity. To solve the problem,we must deal with the relationship between teachers'reasonable demands and the development of rural education, promote the orderly flow of teachers and improve their sense of local identity by strengthening the construction of rural teachers'housing and supporting facilities, improving the policy of'county management and school employment',and increasing their local culture knowledge.
