The New Literacy-based Curriculum:Concepts,Components and Practical Pathways
The new literacy-based curriculum is based on the core concept of curriculum core literacy,which aims to cultivate students'higher-order competencies in applying the essence of the curriculum and ways of thinking in an integrated manner to solve different problems in diversified real-world contexts.It is an important engine for the quality development of education.The core curriculum literacy is a more democratic and liberal value,a more understanding view of education and a more creative theory of practice.Curriculum core literacy is based on children's psychological experience,takes children's social life as its source,aims at developing the process and practicality of knowledge,is oriented to knowledge and skills inherent in more than a single subject,and manifests itself in living knowledge and new competencies adapted to the developmental needs of the digital age.The new literacy-based curriculum consists of elements such as open inquiry generative themes,expressive tasks,inquiry activities,learning communities,and innovative learning environments.The new literacy-based curriculum has the following five directions of practice:first,comprehensive development and human development;second,open and collaborative,linkage and co-construction;third,in-depth understanding and revitalization of what has been learnt;fourth,extensive practice and creation of the unknown;and fifth,evaluation-oriented and continuous development.
