Research on Constructing Teacher Effectiveness Assessment Index System Based on Grounded Theory
As one of the three major types of teacher assessment, teacher effectiveness assessment is an important way to reverse the unscientific orientation of teacher assessment and solve the development dilemma of teacher assessment. In order to construct a teacher effectiveness assessment index system based on the real educational and teaching situation in China, grounded theory research was used to conduct in-depth interviews with 13 teachers to fully understand the core issues of teacher assessment. On this basis, first,a total of 295 phenomenon labels were pasted through open coding to form 116 initial concepts, and then further abstracted into 34 initial categories.Secondly, continuous comparison and analysis of relevant raw materials, labels, concepts, and categories were conducted through selective encoding, and five core categories with commanding significance were extracted from the perspective of"input-output".Finally,based on theoretical coding,a preliminary assessment index system for teacher effectiveness was constructed, and it was revised and improved through expert consultation and identification surveys. The final determination of the assessment index system for teacher effectiveness included four primary indicators, including teacher professional development effectiveness, teacher subject teaching effectiveness, teacher class management effectiveness, and teacher educating effectiveness,as well as 12 secondary indicators.
