It is generally considered a complicated en-deavor to design a well-functioned modern laboratory facility. This paper takes Shanghai Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention as an example, and takes its characteristics as the key points, to explain the key ideas of the laboratory building design with scientific ap-proaches in the process of design.
