RENOVATING CAMPUS SPACE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF"CAMPUS-CITY INTEGRATION":TAKING THE 31ST UNIVERSIADE ATHLETE VIL-LAGE AND CHENGDU UNIVERSITY CAMPUS RENEWAL AS AN EXAMPLE
As education becomes more widespread,the public's eagerness for knowledge and the rapid pace of integration between industry and education,together unlock the doors of universities.The organic integration of university campuses into urban communities not only alleviates the pressure on urban public resources,but also activates the campus spatial scenes,redefining the relationship between universities and cities.The Chengdu University Campus Renewal Project was initiated in re-sponse to the 31st World University Games hosted by Chengdu.Designed with the perspective of"campus-city"integration,this project employs organic renewal techniques,including the integration of public service facilities with adjacent roads,the creation of a slow-traffic system linking campus to urban parks,the establishment of spatial connections among venues,and the creation of climate-resilient open space boundaries.These strategies collectively forge sustainable campus space that harmo-nizes with the city.
