RESEARCH ON KEY LOW-CARBON TECHNOLOGIES AND INTEGRATED DESIGN APPROACHES FOR ICE RINKS
With the growing popularity of winter sports, the construction and operation of low-carbon ice rinks have become critical areas for implementing sustainable development principles. The high energy consumption and multidisciplinary complexity of ice rinks call for an integrated design method aiming carbon neutrality. This paper analyzes the operational practice and energy consumption of four typical training ice rinks in Beijing, supplemented by field research on Finnish ice rinks.Based on this analysis,an integrated design system for low-carbon ice arenas is proposed. The system is structured around five key technological strategies:compact space optimization,low-carbon materials,CO2 refrigeration system,high-performance building envelope, and re-newable energy. These measures form a comprehensive framework for key low-carbon technologies, facilitate the transformation of ice rinks worldwide towards high-performance and sustainable operations.
