Ambiguity is a universal phenomenon in every natural language,and English is no exception to this.With the development of the study of linguistics, more and more scholars have paid great attention on ambiguity of language.There are mainly three categories of ambiguity in English,namely,phonological ambiguity,lexical ambiguity,and syntactic ambiguity(or structural ambiguity / grammatical ambiguity).This paper will give a brief analysis of the three ambiguities from the perspective of semantics.
