Academic Nature and Disciplinary Tendency of Hakka Studies
Hakka culture has the dual characteristics of regional culture and ethnic culture.From two dimensions of academia and disciplines,this article analyzes the development process of Hakka culture from emerging specialized study to internationally recognized study,from being absent in the current discipline catalog system in China to taking a central position in discipline construction,from a unpopular study to a popular study and then to a unusual study with unique value and influence,from a widely recognized study to the risky study,and from Hakka research to Hakka studies.It reveals the attributes,nature,and characteristics of Hakka research with a modern academic and disciplinary significance,suggesting that Hakka research has the attributes and characteristics of being on the edge,emerging,and interdisciplinary.On the whole,Hakka research has quite prominent characteristics and advantages,but at the same time,it is gradually demonstrating its shortcomings such as lack of research successors and lack of development momentum.At present,Hakka research is faced with many crises and challenges,but it also has huge opportunities for development,with a promising future.
