Research on control measures of gas evolution rate of pressure-resistant zinc-silver battery
Oil-filled pressure-compensated pressurized zinc-silver battery is one of the alternative technology routes of power supply for deep-sea manned submersible, because of its special applica-tion environment,it is necessary to immerse in the insulating oil to use the pressure-bearing zinc-silver battery in the normal operation, and the gas produced in the charging and discharging process is discharged from the monomer battery in the form of bubbles in the liquid, the bubble will carry lye into the battery box, which threatens the battery system security. Therefore, the amount of gas produced in the battery must be strictly controlled.During the development of the zinc-silver battery for all-sea deep-sea manned submersible, some measures were tried to be taken, such as optimizing the structure of the electrode plate, improving the additives of the negative electrode and electrolyte, optimizing the charging system of the battery, etc.,compared with the zinc-silver battery used in Ji-aolong manned submersible, the gas evolution rate is significantly reduced. The test results show that the highest discharge rate of the zinc-silver battery is not more than 0.03 mL/Ah with the increase of discharge rate, which meets the requirement of 11 000-meter submersible.
