Groundwater is an extremely important water resource,it plays an irreplaceable role in ensuring domestic water consumption,maintaining a good ecological environment and supporting high-quality economic and social development in Guizhou Province,so it's necessary to study how to strengthen its management and protection. To improve the level of groundwater management and protection in Guizhou province,by comprehensively combing the status quo and effectiveness of groundwater management in Guizhou Province,the existing problems of groundwater management are analyzed,it is found that the management foundation of Guizhou Province is still weak,the implementation effect of relevant planning is not ideal,the construction and implementation of management system needs to be improved,the monitoring scope and monitoring level is insufficient,and the local legislation needs to be improved. To solve the above problems,the countermeasures and suggestions to improve the level of management and protection of groundwater are put forward,including to lay a solid foundation for groundwater management,to complete the work in relation to the planning of groundwater,to optimize groundwater control indicators and improve the groundwater management system and supporting measures,to strengthen groundwater monitoring,toimprove local legislation on groundwater. It is hoped to provide reference for peers engaged in groundwater management in Guizhou and karst areas in China.
