Characteristics and main controlling factors of reservoirs of Maokou Formation in eastern Sichuan Basin
In order to elucidate the reservoir characteristics of Maokou Formation in eastern Sichuan Basin and to clarify the main controlling factors of reservoir development, the reservoir characteristics of Maokou Formation in eastern Sichuan Basin are studied based on field outcrops, drilling cores, and a large amount of logging data. The results indicate that:(1)Bright granular limestone, granular dolomite and fine-mesocrystalline dolomite are the main reservoir rocks of Maokou Formation in eastern Sichuan Basin.(2)Caves and fractures are developed in both limestone and dolomite, and pores are mainly distributed in fine-mesocrystalline dolomite.(3)The Maokou Formation reservoirs are mainly distributed in Mao 2 a and b submembers, which are controlled by grain shoals and fault zones on the plane.(4)Granular rock provides the material foundation for the Maokou Formation reservoir, which is the most important factor in forming the reservoirs. The fault system determines the final distribution of the reservoir, and the supergene karstification and dolomitization form a large amount of reservoir space, which is the key to improving reservoir quality. The results show that the grain shoals in the Mao 2 a and b submembers distributed along the 15# basement fault in the Linshui-Fengdu area can be a key target for exploration and development.
