On Strategies of College English Phonetics Teaching in Adult Universities
Strategies are proposed about phonetics instruction in adult higher education English.Firstly,em-phasis on the importance of phonetics learning is promoted among students from both theoretical and practical perspectives.Secondly,a systematic phonetics teaching plan is formulated.This involves dividing phonetics in-struction into two stages:a phoneme correction phase,with a focus on the articulation of phonemes,followed by an ongoing learning phase,with an emphasis on the pronunciation of vocabulary.Lastly,teachers should tai-lor their phonetics instruction to the unique characteristics of adult learners.This includes creating a positive classroom atmosphere by adhering to polite strategies,and potentially employing a flipped classroom model to enhance the effectiveness of phonetics instruction.
