The Mechanism and Path for Digital Economy to Empower Urban Agglomeration Consumption Upgrading
The digital economy has become a new driving force in China's economic development,and its impact on the upgrading of residents'consumption structure cannot be ignored.Based on the panel data of 224 cities in 19 urban agglomerations from 2011 to 2019,and the development level of digital economy in urban ag-glomerations,this paper combs the relationship between digital economy,upgrading of industrial structure and upgrading of residents'consumption structure from the perspective of urban agglomeration.Using dynamic panel and intermediary effect,this paper empirically analyzes the transmission path of digital economy affecting the upgrading of residents'consumption structure in urban agglomeration,and further studies the mechanism of digital economy affecting the upgrading of residents'consumption structure in urban agglomeration by taking the level of industrial structure as a threshold variable.The research finds that while the digital economy of urban agglomeration directly promotes the upgrading of residents'consumption structure,it can also indi-rectly promote the upgrading of residents'consumption structure through the upgrading of industrial structure.At the same time,the digital economy of urban agglomeration also has a significant threshold effect on the up-grading of residents'consumption structure.Therefore,we should guide the integrated development of digital economy and industrial structure,strengthen the investment in"new infrastructure",and promote digital in-dustrialization to optimize the resident consumption structure.
