Abstract
The paper reviews the international influence Xinhua Dictionary has exerted in its translation, publishing, issuing and prize winning both at home and abroad. It is pointed out that Xinhua Dictionary, as the most authorized small - sized Chinese dictionary, has made a great contribution to the spread of Chinese culture, the friendly communication with foreign countries and Chinese teaching abroad.
