Shaping Landscape:Daily Life and Productive Behavior of Farmers in the Coastal Areas of Southern Liaoning Province
This paper based on fieldwork in the coastal area of southern Liaoning Province, analyzes the process of farmers shaping the new agricultural landscape in the transition of agrarian marketization as its central theme, and investigates the behavioral characteristics of farmers. The findings reveal that farmers adopt a pattern of"imitation-example-imitation again"while forming this new agricultural landscape, reflecting their conservative and cautious approach to life and production cultivated over thousands of years of farming culture.Furthermore,it highlights psychological traits rooted in traditional culture emphasizing familial ties and relationships within close-knit communities.Compared with previous studies on landscape anthropology, this paper endeavors to incorporate"policy"factors into its research framework, contemplating logical connections between national policies and rational economic behavior among rural farmers while introducing"economic income"as a novel element for exploring farmers'cognition and perception of the new agricultural landscape.By expanding upon the concept of agricultural landscape, this study contributes fresh insights to the field of landscape anthropology.
