As a guiding document for teaching, the syllabus plays a pivotal role in Chinese language education. This article analyzes the educational philosophy, core content, and forms of teaching evaluation of the latest Chinese language curriculum and syllabus in South Korean middle schools, and compares them with the"International Chinese Language Teaching General Curriculum Outline".It is found that the teaching syllabi of various Chinese language courses in South Korea emphasize communication skills over language knowledge, select language materials closely related to contemporary characteristics, and value the cultivation of students'autonomous learning abilities and digital basic information application capabilities.Based on this, the study proposes specific suggestions for the revision of South Korea's Chinese language courses and syllabi, such as adding a Chinese character table and dividing"recognition characters"and"handwriting characters,"marking Chinese words in the vocabulary list, increasing localized vocabulary, listing basic grammar items, and setting cultural teaching content and goals based on the characteristics of the"Chinese character cultural circle."These suggestions provide ideas and references for the formulation and design of national Chinese language teaching syllabuses.
