The utilization of concentrated micro-algae in hatchery production in yesso scallop Patinopecten yessoensis
The larval yesso scallop Patinopecten yessoensis were assigned to 5 groups, and fed the mixture of concentrated micro - algae filtrated by hollow fiber membrane at a rate of 25% , 50% , 75% and 100% and fresh micro - algae to evaluate the effects of the concentrated micro - algae on the growth, and development of the larvae and the water quality. The results showed that the relative stable water quality was observed in the group with 100% concentrated micro - algae. There was no adverse impact on the early larvae in the group with 25% to 50% concentrated algae. The survival rates and settlement rates of the larvae were all higher than those in the control group during the mid - and later rearing period.
