Spatial distribution characteristics and tourism response of important geological heritage in Shanxi
Shanxi province is rich in resources of geological heritage, and geotourism is an important means for scientific protection and sustainable utilization of geological heritage. This paper firstly identifies the dense distribution areas of important geological sites in Shanxi through DBSCAN clustering algorithm of ArcGIS Pro software, and portrays the spatial distribution characteristics of important geological heritage in the province at multiple scales through the nearest neighbor index, kernel density analysis and grid dimensional method;secondly,it further explores the tourism development response and spatial response characteristics of important geological heritage using geographic linkage rate and multi-scale geographically weighted regression model. The results show that:(1)Shanxi's important geological heritage consists of seven major clustering distribution areas, and their distribution characteristics are significantly different in multi-scale perspectives. At the provincial scale, important geological heritage sites are clustered, showing"double main cores, several sub-cores,and block distribution"pattern,as well as a self-organized fractal structure around linear areas;at the regional scale, important geological heritage sites are clustered, showing a several cores distribution pattern, with a complex fractal structure around linear areas. On the scale of municipalities, the discrete and agglomerative distribution of important geological sites is obvious, showing an"island"distribution pattern.(2)The tourism development response of important geological heritage is significantly different in multi-scales.On the regional scale, the tourism development response of important geological sites is the highest, and the inbound tourism development response is slightly higher than that of domestic tourism, while the inbound tourism development response on the municipal scale is significantly lower than that of domestic tourism. On the scale of important geological sites, the response of inbound tourism is world level>provincial level>state level, and the response of domestic tourism is provincial level>state level>world level.(3)The tourism spatial response of important geological heritage has obvious scale effects and intensity differences. The response scales of tourism network concern and accommodation tend to be global scales;the number of high-A-grade scenic spots and nighttime light intensity are medium scales;the traffic accessibility and the number of travel agencies are smaller and spatial heterogeneity is obvious. In terms of response effects, the number of accommodation and high-A-grade scenic spots in important geological heritage agglomerations is higher, the nighttime light intensity has a positive and negative bidirectional response but weak response, and tourism network concern, traffic accessibility and the number of travel agencies show low levels in geological heritage agglomerations.
