Role of wound microorganisms in the healing of diabetic foot ulcer
Diabetes foot ulcer(DFU)wounds are open, and the skin environment is conducive to microbial colonization. The presence of these microorganisms is the main reason for the refractoriness and high recurrence of DFU.Microorganisms in healthy skin are in a balanced state, while in DFU wounds, microorganisms(such as symbiotic and pathogenic bacteria)are in an imbalanced state, which may lead to delayed wound healing or further damage to skin tissue. This article reviews the mechanisms of skin wound healing, the main pathogenic and symbiotic bacteria identified in DFU wounds and their role in wound healing, providing a new perspective for DFU diagnosis and treatment.
