Research progress on gender differences in the pathogenesis and treatment of obesity-related cardiomyopathy
In association with the increase in obesity and related cardiometabolic risk factors, the prevalence of obesity-related cardiomyopathy is rising worldwide.Notably, obesity-related cardiomyopathy exhibits significant gender-specific characteristics.The pathogenesis of obese-related cardiomyopathy encompasses insulin resistance, lipid metabolism disorder, inflammatory responses, mitochondrial dysfunction, etc.Recent research has found that gender, sex hormones, and gender-specific molecular mechanisms play important roles in the development of obesity-related cardiomyopathy.This review article discusses the pathogenesis, clinical efficacy, and treatment strategies of obesity-related cardiomyopathy, focusing on gender differences.
