Progress in the application of functional hydrogel dressings in diabetic chronic wounds
Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a serious complication of diabetes, characterized by ulcers or deep tissue destruction below the ankle in diabetic patients. It is associated with high amputation rate, recurrence rate and mortality rate. Currently, traditional surgical treatments such as debridement and anti-infection,as well as innovative therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen and negative pressure therapy, have become important tools for the prevention of amputation. However, the cure rate of DFU is still unsatisfactory. Hydrogel dressings have emerged as a research hotspot in the field of wound care due to their excellent moisture retention, biocompatibility and therapeutic properties. Focusing on the microenvironment of DFU,the factors that make ulcer wound difficult to heal, and moist wound healing therapy, the progress of DFU functional hydrogel dressing treatment is reviewed in this paper.
