The metaphysical logic and fundamental implications of ethical contingency theory
Ethical contingency theory differs from classical ethical theories that treat virtue as a derivative relationship;instead,it studies the contemporary issues in virtue ethics and the potential modes of contemporary ethical existence. This theory requires us to use the historical contingency logic of virtuous existence, transitioning from the ethical epistemology of moral necessity to the practical identification of ethical contingency. The contingency of chance, contingent characteristics and the implications of contingency are intrinsically linked to the ethical concepts of virtues, character, and morality.By studying the contemporary perplexities and disputes that arise from the mutual interpretation of Eastern and Western ethics,we discover the contingency of virtues, the characteristics of character, and the contingency of morality.Only in this sense can we comprehend the dilemmas faced by contemporary ethics, thereby constructing a discourse on contemporary ethical morals grounded on the notion of ethical contingency, ethical characteristics and ethical contingency in a more general sense.
