The Analysis and Reconstruction of Some Spatial Philosophical Discourses on Chinese-Style Modernization
Chinese-style modernization is not only an issue of social and historical development, but al-so an issue of social space reconstruction. The successful practice of socialism with Chinese char-acteristics in the new era calls for the independent construction of spatial philosophical discourses for Chinese modernity. To discuss the generative logic of spatial discourses of Chinese path to modernization, firstly,it is necessary to critically reflect on and transcend the Western moderniza-tion theory's"historical teleological"abstract logic imposition and the"Western-centered"spa-tial discourses on Chinese-style modernization;secondly,to learn from and surpass the under-standing of the significance of Chinese-style modernization by historical-spatial philosophical dis-courses in the so-called"global modernity theory"and"world system theory"which are regarded as alternatives of Western modernization theory;thirdly,to learn from the contributions of the world geopolitical philosophy in continent-centrism and ocean-centrism to the specialized empiri-cal studies on the significance of Chinese-style modernization and to overcome its limitations;and fourthly to digest and absorb in-depth research findings of the"indigenous modernization"theory on Chinese-style modernization and reflect on the limitations of its spatial philosophy perspective.By grasping the dialectical interaction between capitalist global production logic and spatial pro-duction logic of China's modernization of its own,we can understand the significance of historical spatial dialectics of Chinese-style modernization from the perspective of development practice of China's revolution and modernization itself.
